JNC Constructions is delivering fire system safety upgrades and modifications to four Northern Territory Air Force, Naval and Military sites to bring them up to Building Code of Australia NCC fire compliance requirements.
Increasing Indigenous enterprise in remote areas
JNC has drawn on our networks to maximise the use of Indigenous subcontractors and suppliers in our supply chain.
Managing multiple work fronts
Work on the four sites is being undertaken simultaneously o reduce contract duration. A staged handover of works at each base upon completion has negated the need for lengthy commissioning and handover period. All four sides have significant, yet unique, security requirements, and some required considerable liaison with stakeholders and personnel prior to and during establishment.
Design and construct
Strong design management capabilities are needed, due to required inputs from various designers, with JNC Group responsible for working with each to combine the individual elements into the overall project. Heritage management considerations form some of the design constraints due to the age of several buildings requiring the works.
Remote locations
To successfully complete this project JNC is drawing on its long experience working in remote locations to build relationships with regional communities, attract and retain skilled works, and avoid material and equipment delays or shortages.
